Metro Detroit Bride Magazine contacted us regarding an article they were writing entitled "Company's Coming". This article is about hosting out-of-town wedding guests and we provided input on hotel blocks. Check it out online (p. 54-55) or on newsstands now! Another Simplicity couple makes the news

Jamie + Jay's wedding was one of our most talked about weddings to date.  The originality of this wedding was only complimented by the amazing talent of Jess from Mod4 Photographic.

Metro Detroit Bride Magazine published this 2 page spread in their winter/spring 2011 edition (pages 83-84), available in stores now.  The magazine didn't mention us specifically........... but we are so proud to have been a part of this wedding that we just have to share!  Check it out:

Wedding of the Week!

Recent Simplicity couple Courtney and David made the news! Their wedding was selected as "wedding of the week" in the Detroit Free Press. The fabulous photography of Mod4 was featured.  This really was a fantastic wedding and I am so proud that I was a part of it....... and it definitely deserved this honor!  Congrats C+D!!  ♥Shelly

Another Simplicity Couple in the News!

We love to open Bridal Magazines and see the beautiful faces of our Simplicity Couples. Laura and Sean who have a May wedding at Addison Oaks planned graced the "Rules Of Engagement" section of the Winter/Spring 2010 Issue of Metro Detroit Bride.  A scanned image just wouldn't do Laura and Sean justice so I contacted their photographer Samantha to email over some of the images from their engagement shoot. Little did I know their photographer, Samantha Yeakle from So Many Moments, shot their photos while Laura was living across the Country in Oregon. Samantha sent over the beautiful images and I was so excited to learn that Samantha likes to shoot weddings all over, so yes she will venture to Michigan for your wedding!!!  Thank you Samantha for sending this over (you are too sweet!) and thank you Laura and Sean for letting me blog your amazing shots!! Where has January gone????  I'm not sure, but I do know that although we have not had any events this month, we have almost booked ourselves 100% for 2010!! It's been an insane month, but we are loving every second of it!

Simplicity couple featured in "The Knot" Magazine!

In May we had the pleasure of coordinating Katie and Jake's wedding.  The ceremony was beautiful and the reception was a non-stop party.  Katie had taken a lot of time and effort in planning the big day.  They had a large guestlist and wanted to be budget conscious without sacrificing anything.  They did such a fantastic job that "The Knot" magazine included them in a great article that breaks down the cost, vendor by vendor, of 3 very different Michigan weddings.

The magazine should hit stands around November 23rd and it is the Spring/Summer issue on page 191.  We got our hands on an advance copy and scanned parts of the article.  Check it out!

As one of Katie and Jake's vendors, we made the list!  As you can see, the custom package we created for them is valued at $750.  We met with Katie and Jake to determine exactly what areas they needed help with before creating this package.  Just to name a few of the main items included:  unlimited time on the day of with a head coordinator and assistant (it turned out to be around 15 hours), setup and tear down of all decor, distribution and coordination of "thunderstick" grand entrance, setup/refill/tear down of an enormous candy buffet and cupcake stand.  This was all in addition to our normal coordination duties.  It was a long day, but it was so much fun!  We are grateful to have been a part of it.

Here are the kind words that Katie wrote about us:
"Jill and Shelly were AMAZING! I could not have done this without them. I was one of those people who didn't think she needed a DOC and would "let one of the aunts do it" and I was wrong. I trusted Jill and Shelly to set everything up and they did an absolutely amazing job. I could not have done better myself. They kept the candy buffet filled and when no one was eating the cupcakes, they boxed them ALL up and started handing them out to people. If it wasn't for them, I would still be eating 300+ cupcakes! If you are at all skeptical about a DOC, go meet with them, trust me, you NEED a DOC. They kept me 100% calm all the way up the aisle and all the way thru the reception. I love them!!!"
