This wedding was elegant, classy, gorgeous and fun. The vendors were superstars. If I were to envision the perfect country club wedding, this would be it. As you may or may not know, my background is in architecture. This venue was rebuilt recently in a contemporary prairie style that I just loved. The stone on the outside and the beautiful tile and wood on the inside were a great backdrop. Not to mention the awesome lake view from the ceremony area outside.
Kelly's mom Mary was referred to me by a previous client (which is a huge honor). They expressed the need for a little help, especially with the bride and groom living out of state. Everything really came together brilliantly and I am so proud to say that I got to be part of the team. Speaking of the team, I really have to give a shout out to 2 amazing wedding professionals.
First there is Kendall (and her staff) at Oak Pointe. She is a wonderful event director and she really made the extra effort to ensure that the day went exactly as we had all hoped. I really hope that we will work together again soon because it was so much fun! Second, there is Tim S. from Mike Staff. He was awesome (and hilarious)!! The three of us *may* have high fived when we nailed the timeline to the minute.
Ok back to gushing about the wedding.... we were afraid that the weather would prevent us from the outdoor ceremony but it dried up and was FANTASTIC outside. The guests got to ride down in golf carts, which was a ton of fun. The bride looked absolutely gorgeous in her Vera Wang gown. I cannot wait to see the professional pictures of this adorable couple.
Then we went inside for a delicious dinner and some dancing. It was like in the movies... I swear everyone knew how to move on the dance floor like it was choreographed! The dance floor was packed all night long.
Enough of me talking, I know you want pictures. I promise to post even more pictures on our Facebook page and I will try to get the pro pics from Emily as soon as I can... make sure to check back soon for that post.
Make sure you check Facebook soon for more pictures, I just couldn't post them all here.
Thank you so much to Kelly, Jason, and their families. You all were so wonderful and I truly enjoyed my time with you. The wedding was spectacular and I think it was only the beginning to a lifetime of awesomeness =) Congratulations again!! ♥Shelly

This wedding was held on the surface of the sun. I think I lost about 12 pounds doing cardio, I mean, running around setting everything up. Ok, not really, but it was that hot that day! No one seemed to mind however, because the actual venue was super fun. I have never done a wedding at a summer camp, but after months of anticipation I can finally say I have... and it was awesome.
Allison and Alvin are a really laid back couple and they are into outdoor activities and conservation....I couldn't have thought of a more perfect setting for their wedding. I say this a lot, but I really love the weddings that are so in tune with the couple's personality. Those are the weddings that you will always remember and I am sure the Als' guests would never forget this one.
All their friends and family pitched in to make this wedding special. From the DJ and photographer, to the home brewed beer and flowers you could see how much these two are loved. It was so much fun working with everyone and letting the day flow naturally. We even made some big last minute changes and no one skipped a beat.... they just danced and partied well into the night.
Sorry for the pictures being all out of order... I am fighting with Blogger today (and losing).
I need to start you off with a map of the venue...... so you can be jealous of all the sweet things that the guests got to experience camping onsite for the weekend, including a zip line and water slide!

The ceremony was in an adorable little chapel and then we moved into a historic house that was just the perfect size. It was an elegant setting. Maureen and Gini from Greenmead were on hand... they were fantastic and extremely helpful!!
While this was a smaller wedding, Sue and Kevin wanted to make sure the guests still felt spoiled. Holiday Market provided a delicious buffet and cake... omg the cake. I have said before I am not a big cake eater but the passion fruit mousse filling in this cake was absolutely amazing. Then there was an ice cream buffet by Holiday Market with Ray's ice cream. Then even later there were sliders and fries from Bates!
I have to say, it was quite the party. I have to admit, I am a terrible photographer. Unfortunately, I didn't get as many pictures as I would have liked because of the very tight timeline, so I apologize! This is a note for all the brides out there.... many fantastic sites like Greenmead are owned by the city they are in... which means you typically have a VERY short time to set up (hence the lack of photos).
Ok, side note over...
Reception- Greenmead Historical Village, Alexander Blue House
