11.28.09 Paul + Kate

This past Thanksgiving Weekend we coordinated Kate and Paul's "morning of" their wedding. I have been working with Kate for a few months to make sure their morning went smoothly, because the morning of a wedding really sets the tone for the rest of the day. With their wedding nearing 600 guests, Paul and Kate had a large bridal party and many were from out of town, so we worked to make sure everyone was where they needed to be when they needed to be there, and also that everyone was fed and ready on time!!! We coordinated hair appointments, transportation, breakfast, lunch, limo arrivals, photos and many more things starting at 6 am!! We were lucky enough to catch a sneak peak of their amazing reception during set up around 1 pm and then I was lucky enough to attend the wedding with my husband as a guest (amazing 7 course meal (with three different wine pours!) adorable favors and a great band, my husband and I walked out of there more full than at Thanksgiving!). Kate and Paul were a joy to work for, they have such a deep love and respect for one another, they are the most gracious, caring, giving couple, we love them!! Their Bridal party and families were awesome as well!! Thank you Paul and Kate for letting us work for you and we wish you all of the love and happiness in your marriage! Take a look at the few shots I took of the morning events.

Happy Birthday Shelly!

Happy Birthday SHELLY!!! I hope your day was as wonderful as you are. You are the best and some days I don't think I could make it through without you! 

Simplicity couple featured in "The Knot" Magazine!

In May we had the pleasure of coordinating Katie and Jake's wedding.  The ceremony was beautiful and the reception was a non-stop party.  Katie had taken a lot of time and effort in planning the big day.  They had a large guestlist and wanted to be budget conscious without sacrificing anything.  They did such a fantastic job that "The Knot" magazine included them in a great article that breaks down the cost, vendor by vendor, of 3 very different Michigan weddings.

The magazine should hit stands around November 23rd and it is the Spring/Summer issue on page 191.  We got our hands on an advance copy and scanned parts of the article.  Check it out!

As one of Katie and Jake's vendors, we made the list!  As you can see, the custom package we created for them is valued at $750.  We met with Katie and Jake to determine exactly what areas they needed help with before creating this package.  Just to name a few of the main items included:  unlimited time on the day of with a head coordinator and assistant (it turned out to be around 15 hours), setup and tear down of all decor, distribution and coordination of "thunderstick" grand entrance, setup/refill/tear down of an enormous candy buffet and cupcake stand.  This was all in addition to our normal coordination duties.  It was a long day, but it was so much fun!  We are grateful to have been a part of it.

"Jill and Shelly were AMAZING! I could not have done this without them. I was one of those people who didn't think she needed a DOC and would "let one of the aunts do it" and I was wrong. I trusted Jill and Shelly to set everything up and they did an absolutely amazing job. I could not have done better myself. They kept the candy buffet filled and when no one was eating the cupcakes, they boxed them ALL up and started handing them out to people. If it wasn't for them, I would still be eating 300+ cupcakes! If you are at all skeptical about a DOC, go meet with them, trust me, you NEED a DOC. They kept me 100% calm all the way up the aisle and all the way thru the reception. I love them!!!"

I love the wedding world and even more I love the world of Vendors, there is nothing better than working a wedding with great vendors.... everyone knows everyone and everyone really enjoys working together for the Bride and Groom to create an amazing day and amazing memories for the couple! 2009 American Cancer Society Cattle Baron's Ball

Well I did it! I was on the team that coordinated the Food and Beverage side of the 2009 American Cancer Society Cattle Baron's Ball.  It was an amazing time and the ACS raised THOUSANDS of Dollars to help in the fight against Cancer.  I'm already looking forward to volunteering in 2010!

A+J's Teaser Video

Shelby and Aaron of Forever Cherished Productions posted a teaser video of Alyssa and Jared's wedding. It is adorable! I loved their garter removal, it was a riot! Check out the video.

This wedding was the definition of fun. If I could do my wedding all over again, I think I would just copy this one! Alyssa and Jared are really laid back and super sweet. They picked an amazing venue for the ceremony and reception, The Henry Ford Museum. This is arguably one of the most unique venues in Metro Detroit. The banquet staff was an absolute pleasure to work with and I hope to do so again soon. Unfortunately due to lovely Michigan rain the day before, the outdoor ceremony was moved indoors to the theatre.... which is beautiful anyway so I suppose it isn't really a downgrade. I cannot wait to see the pro pictures from Emily Dowd and the video from Shelby & Aaron from FCP!! Tom the DJ was super fun and Crystal from Shutterbooth is just the cutest.

The guests were blown away with this wedding, as was evident by the plethora of pictures flooding my facebook the next day! I am thrilled with the results and even more thrilled for the adorable couple. I wish you two nothing but the best, Mr. & Mrs. B! Here is to your happily ever after!!!

10.03.09 Stacey + Marc

I love FALL weddings! Shelly and I had the pleasure of working with Marc and Stacey for the past few months. Marc and Stacey are living in Chicago, so we met with them when Stacey was in town and we worked mostly through emails. The second I met these two a few months back, I knew I was going to love working for them, they are kind, funny, caring, intelligent little love birds. I'm going to miss Stacey's emails, but hopefully I have gained a new friend.

On to the wedding...it ROCKED! It was beautiful, fun, detailed, the vendors were awesome (we made new friends) , food at the Royalty House was amazing, everything was perfect. The families were so great and the bridal party was seriously the best group of people. This is my shout out to the Maid of Honor who seriously had Shelly and I in tears over her speech, it was the perfect mix of funny and sentimental, it was perfect. Marc and Stacey gave a little toast/speech and again...tears from Shelly and I. Marc and Stacey~ THANK YOU for letting us be a part of your wedding day, the love and respect your family and friends have for you is so apparent as is the love and respect you have for one another. 2 YEARS!!!

Two years ago today I married my best friend. Our wedding was our absolute dream wedding! Our ceremony was perfect in our eyes, there was laughter and tears as we were surrounded by our friends and family and remembered those who couldn't be there with us. Tears from Chris and I as we remembered my dad with an empty chair with a beautiful red rose in his place and laughter as the reverend told the story of how we first met. I felt like the luckiest girl walking down the isle with my mom by my side and my best friend waiting for me at the alter and our closest friends standing up with us.

Our reception at Comerica Park was a total blast. The room was filled with love, fun and of course more laughter. Chris and I are so lucky to have such amazing people in our lives.

So here is my chance to gush about the man I married two years ago...I am so thankful for this man making me a better person, making me want to be the best and dream for the best, who makes me believe in myself, who supports me, who loves me, who makes me pee my pants laughing daily, who loves my friends and family, who makes me a we, who makes me whole. Chris, everything is just better when you're around- here's to a hundred and one more years of love, laughter and friendship (and maybe a few babies)!
