Christening 10.3.10

I was lucky enough to be asked to do a complete set up for a vendor friend's family..I couldn't say no! This Christening was over the top and given with love for a beautiful baby girl. I brought in a full team of 4 for this set up including my parents and my supportive husband...it was a great day of bonding! Our client came up with this amazing room design, and our job was to execute their vision. We had 4 different tablescapes to set up on 19 tabletops, 6 high tops, 200 chair covers to tie, 200 chargers, folded napkins and favors to put out and a "sweet table" to help create along with a few more things on our "TO DO" list.

This event was for such a special family. I have always loved working with them, and she has taught me so much over the past few years, but working with her on this event, reinforced how important your friends and family are and how vendors and clients become like family.

Thank you girls for trusting me with this important event!! Love you! xxoo, Jill

Jessica + Ian 10.2.10

I was looking forward to Jessica and Ian's wedding for over a year! We grew into great friends over the year that we worked together and I hope that all of our meetings over Raspberry tea were as fun for Jessica as they were for me!!

Their wedding was a classic and elegant Fall wedding. Jessica incorporated so many details that flowed together seamlessly to create the wedding of her dreams- the details started the moment the guests walked into church for the ceremony and continued through the evening.

Jessica and Ian's Ceremony was one of my favorite ceremonies of the year. The second the bride starts her walk down the aisle...chills run up my arms and of course tears begin... Jessica surprised Ian with a Bagpiper to lead them out of the church during their processional...so of course I cried twice during this ceremony!

The reception was perfect..it was just what we all envisioned it would be. The way every detail came together really made me proud that Simplicity was there to share this day!

The flowers arriving from The Parsonage...they are always beautiful and amazing

The guests were greeted by this Fall tablescape...complete with vintage handkerchiefs

The Reception was full of candlelight and romance

Thank you Jessica and Ian for letting us be a part of your day! Now time for some mac and cheese in Clarkston! xxoo Jill

Courtney + Rick 11.13.10

Courtney contacted me a few months ago and was in need of a hand with her reception set up and vendor coordination.  She didn't want to burden her family and friends with this and she just wanted to enjoy her day.  This is a very common request from our couples and I was happy to help!  Courtney and Rick are such an adorably sweet couple, I cannot wait to see the professional pictures of them because they looked gorgeous!

Nothing makes me happier when a bride tells me how relaxed she was all day because every time someone would ask her "well what about ___" she would just say "Shelly is already on it".  Actually, what makes me the happiest is when the bride and groom walk into their reception and see everything the first time and their eyes just light up.  Everything really did look amazing with all the icy silver and purple linens, crystals everywhere, silver branches, and purple uplighting.  Rick actually made the branch centerpieces and the florist decorated them.

The guests LOVED the candy buffet and the photobooth.  What a fun group!  They were so excited to see all the wonderful details that Courtney and Rick had worked so hard on.  Check out the pictures below and see our facebook for more pictures.

Thank you C+R for being such a wonderful couple to work with.  It was a pleasure and I wish you a lifetime of love and happiness.

Teresa + Eric 10.30.10

I literally jumped up and down and did a happy dance when Teresa and Eric hired me to coordinate their steam punk & halloween themed wedding.  Halloween is awesome, dressing up is awesome and weddings are awesome..... so combining all three things?  Triple awesome.  If you don't know what steam punk is... click here because there is no way I can define it accurately.

T+E needed a ton of set up help, which was our main duty of the day.  The ceremony and reception were held at the Lafayette Grande in Pontiac which was a great neutral backdrop for all the wicked crows, bats, spiders, life sized ghouls and all the other wonderful decor.  The Parsonage even brought in creepy bare trees!!

I could probably go on and on about all the wonderful vendors we worked with and how amazing and creative this couple is... but I know you would rather see some pictures.  There were way too many cool details to photograph and post, so I will upload them all to a facebook album for your viewing pleasure.

Julie + Andy 9.25.10

The second I met Julie and her mother in-law, I knew I was going to enjoy working for them! Julie was one of the MOST organized and calm brides I have ever worked with and she and Andy hired a great team of vendors to make their day perfect. The black and green theme radiated through the room! The Meeting House is already a beautiful room full of history, but this color scheme was stunning with the Ballroom's decor.

I love when the flowers arrive!!! Liz and her team from The Parsonage never disappoint!!
