Steph and Chris 06.26.10

You know you have a great couple when they title their wedding "Chris and Steph's Super Awesome Wedding =) " on all their paperwork.  These two are incredibly unique and creative and totally gaga for each other.  Nearly everything was hand made by the couple and their personality was infused into every detail of the day.

Cobblestone is a do-it-yourself bride's dream come true because pretty much everything has to be brought in.  Angel Food Catering was fantastic to work with and the Mexican food buffet was super tasty!  Judy from Angel Food was quick on her feet and ready to do whatever needed to be done to make sure the day was perfect.  There was a short but sweet ceremony outside followed by cocktail hour under a tent.  It was a little toasty out so we made sure to get the guests inside quickly to enjoy all the decor, snacks, candy, and air conditioning!

After our awesome dinner, the couple had their first dance to "Earth Angel" which was incredibly sweet.  I cannot wait to see the photos from the super talented Jessica Cornman!  Then it was party time and the guests loved the photobooth from Rock the Booth.  The day turned out fantastic and I am still marveling over all the thought and handiwork that went into this wedding.  Chris and Steph, I wish a lifetime of love and happiness......... and a super fantastic relaxing honeymoon!  You deserve it.  ♥Shelly

The super steep ramp that leads up to the reception space... I think I ran this puppy at least 30 times!

There was a little stable outside with pigs, horses, chickens, and goats!

GUEST at a wedding?

For once I was able to enjoy myself as a guest of a wedding.  Our friends Jason and Meghan tied the knot on Friday and their reception was held at Laurel Manor in Livonia.  I wanted to share two pictures with you that I thought were really nice.  Meghan is a teacher and she had her students tell a story and draw a picture of their honeymoon (an Alaskan cruise) and used these as the table numbers.  They turned out really cute.  Also, the groom designed the cake himself and Elite Sweets made it into a very tasty cake.  Congrats Jason and Meghan!!  Your wedding was beautiful.  ♥Shelly

Patrice + Scott 06.19.10 part 2

This couple is so cute I want to stick them in my pocket and keep them forever.  Yup, I said it.  They are so easy going and hired an amazing all star group of vendors (seriously amazing) so it really made my job easier.  Thankfully the heat wave held off a little and it turned out to be a beautiful summer day.

The ceremony was at the Michigan Union and I fell instantly in love with the ceremony room.  The architecture was beautiful and it was so cozy and intimate.  The bridal party got ready in the room next door.  The bride and groom chose to see each other prior to the ceremony.... and I cannot wait to see the pictures of this meeting!  I'm not really a crier, but I may have teared up seeing these two.  After seeing each other, their nerves calmed and they could just enjoy everything.  They even walked down the aisle together!  This was a first for me, but I really liked it.

The reception was held nearby at Weber's Inn.  The food was yummy and so were all the desserts!  The water glasses and the silverware is all monogrammed and looked amazing.  Also, Jill and I were obsessed with the lantern/wheat grass centerpieces.  So simple but the impact was huge.  They may be our favorite centerpieces of the year so far!  The couple chose to have a sweetheart table and their biggest request of the night was for me to make sure they sat down and ate a full dinner with dessert!!  It is too often that the bride and groom rush thru their meal, skip the dessert, and run off to chat with everyone... so I was very happy to help out with this request.

P+S... I wish you all the happiness in the world... and maybe a few puppies and unicorns thrown in!!!  Thanks for letting me be a part of such an amazing day!  ♥Shelly

Jennifer + Brendon 05.30.10

This Memorial day weekend was very busy, but totally worth it! On Sunday we spent the day with Jennifer and Brendon and their amazing friends and family. The weather was BEAUTIFUL- the day was perfect. Jennifer and Brendon were lucky enough to have their brother-in-law, Cory, officiate their ceremony and he definitely caught me crying in the back pew. Jennifer had selected some great vendors, so Shelly and I were very lucky to work with such talented people, perhaps because Jennifer is a "vendor" herself and works at the ever so popular Shutterbooth!! It was an honor that she asked us to be a part of her day...it means the world because being in this industry and having her trust in us to make sure their day rocked...really is the best compliment to Simplicity. The day did rock! Jennifer looked amazing (seriously beautiful and radiant!!)...and was a very laid back (yet organized) bride who wanted to enjoy their day. I'm so happy for Jennifer and Brendon and I can't wait to see some of their professional pics from the talented Jen with Amanda Williams Photography -until then check out our pics. Thank you for letting us be a part of your wedding day <3>
