Amanda + Joe 9.11.10

Rain couldn't stop Amanda and Joe from getting married at the beautiful George George Memorial Park...and it didn't stop their guests either! The rain did stop me from taking the usual sneak peak photos, but the photographer Tammy's photos are so amazing and captured the day perfectly!! I worked with Amanda and Joe to mostly coordinate their ceremony for them. They chose this beautiful park and knew they would need someone like me (I did bring my husband along for the muscle!) for set up, coordination and tear down....and everything went perfect! Amanda and Joe were very calm and only looked forward to the ceremony and didn't let the rain get to them...the wedding ceremony was wonderful!
Amanda and Joe did have a surprise for their guests.... a very unique surprise that blew both me and their guests away...they hired Breezecabs to transport their guests to the pavilion...and then the bride to her walk down the aisle..such a unique and cool idea! This company was amazing! They had over 4 staff members there to help organize the transportation and two awesome drivers! Take a look at the stunning photos that the talented Tammy LaBar captured...

Thank you Joe and Amanda for letting me (and my husband!) be a part of your amazing wedding day!!
xxoo, Jill

Raeyanna + Matt 9.18.10

I love unique fun couples. They really make an effort to inject their personalities into the celebration of their marriage and I really appreciate that. Raeyanna and Matt had a very personal, intimate ceremony at a nature preserve. The ceremony was beautiful and touching despite the rainy weather. Then we headed off to a nursery... yep, a nursery. Raeyanna had seen a picture of the one wedding the nursery had hosted and fell in love with the location. The couple carefully planned how they wanted host the reception in this unique space. We made space for a cocktail area, food stations, a live band, apps/desserts, a photowall, and a long farm table for the guests. I think it turned out simply stunning. The guests were able to casually mingle and sample all the wonderful food. I was able to snag a bite of the amazing cheesecake wedding cake and let me tell you...wow!

One of the coolest parts of the day was actually something to do with the honeymoon! Raeyanna and Matt have spent the last several months lovingly constructing a travel trailer. I am in awe of their skill. They were able to park it outside the nursery so their guests could check it out. Now, they are traveling across the country and enjoying married life!!!

Congratulations Raeyanna and Matt... you two make an absolutely adorable couple and I am so proud I was able to be a part of your day. I hope you are having a ton of fun on your trek across America!

Julianna + Marino 9.17.10

Julianna and Marino are straight up adorable.  Their families are amazingly sweet and super fun... I knew this wedding was going to be a blast the second I met everyone.  Julie is one of the most organized brides I have ever met, which only made my life easier!  She and Marino really just wanted to make sure that their guests had a fabulous time.  The food was delicious, the music was fantastic, and the setup was gorgeous.  I didn't get a picture of the cake, but I will definitely post the professional pictures as soon as they are available because the cake was perfect and deserves to be posted.

Pink and black setup from AECC and backdrop from Classy Receptions

Adorable centerpieces

Dramatic backdrop with uplighting

Favors/escort cards... custom pomegranate zinfandel wine for the adults and bottles of M&M's for the kids

Escort card table

Mmmm... mini dessert buffet

The lighting and backdrop gave a dramatic effect to the whole room

Congratulations Julie and Marino!  You were wonderful to work with and your day was absolutely amazing!!!!  I wish you a lifetime of love and happiness together.   ♥Shelly

Chris's Surprise Graduation Party! 8.7.10

This party has been in the "works" for about a year now! My amazing husband graduated Law School in May and took the Michigan BAR exam in July..my plan all along was to let him get through the studying and grueling experience of the BAR and then have this awesome surprise party with our friends and family. I don't know how this was pulled off..with over 50 guests traveling from all over, but I DID IT and it ROCKED.

SURPRISE!

Jessica + Shane 9.4.10

Saturday was such an amazing day. Jessica and Shane are two people that belong together! I am so happy the day turned out so perfect...I have been working with Jessica's family planning their wedding for about a year and really have enjoyed being a part of this process, our meetings usually involved great food..so that was always a bonus! It's hard to explain, but the way the event went, it was flawless...the timing, the dramatic processional of the ceremony...the toasts and grand entrance, the way Addison Oaks came together (Dan and his team really make Addison Oaks a dream venue!), it was just perfect. It truly was a great team of vendors and a wedding full of love and togetherness.

The room starting to come together..

One of the most amazing cakes I have ever seen..

Ready to go..
